Chiropractic Treatments

Available at both Uckfield and Hailsham Clinics

Chiropractors are best known for manual treatments  such as spinal manipulation, where they use their hands  to free stiff or restricted joints, or mobilisation, which is the gradual moving of joints.

But they may also use other techniques such as certain types of acupuncture, electrotherapy, stretching exercises and rehabilitation, all of which form part of a chiropractor’s package of care. Your chiropractor may also offer lifestyle advice to help prevent repeated episodes of neck pain.

If your chiropractor does not think you can be helped by chiropractic treatment, you may be referred back to your GP or to another health professional. Chiropractors do  not prescribe medication, so if this is needed, you may  be referred back to your GP. As chiropractors support a joined-up approach to care, they may ask if they can  send a brief report to your GP.

Podiatry Treatment

Available at Uckfield and Hailsham Clinics

Providing all regular ‘chiropody’ footcare treatments, including the management of nails, hard skin, corns and other skin conditions.

Also specialising in musculoskeletal and biomechanical assessments of the feet, legs and hips for the treatment of painful and chronic conditions.  Expert in the provision of custom orthotics, and the treatment of verruca pedis, fungal nails and ingrown toenails (minor surgical procedures carried out).

See the Uckfield Podiatry website for more details.

Sports Massage

Available at both Uckfield and Hailsham Clinics

Sports Massage is with our highly qualified therapists who works in close conjunction with our chiropractors.

For sports persons, sports and remedial massage can be used in injury prevention and rehabilitation; and also in preparation for and recovery from sports events, helping you keep your training on target.

Sports and remedial massage is not the sole reserve of athletes. It’s a deep and more technical treatment that helps to restore normal/optimal function, relieve muscular aches and pains, and improving balance and flexibility; therefore benefiting the non-athlete as well.

Try Sports Massage for tight and tired muscles, in the neck and shoulders, tight calves or hamstrings. And conditions such as Shin Splints, Tennis Elbow, Shoulder Impingement and many others.

Acupuncture

We now have Rick Mudie BSc, BSc (Hons) Oriental Medicine, MBAaC working with us at Uckfield Chiropractic Clinic.

Traditional acupuncture is a healthcare system based on ancient principles. It has a very positive model of good health and function, and looks at pain and illness as signs that the body is out of balance. The overall aim of acupuncture treatment, then, is to restore the body’s equilibrium. (According to the British Acupuncture Council) www.acupuncture.org.uk
