Uckfield Chiropractic Clinic

Uckfield Chiropractic Clinic is the longest established clinic in town and has been running for over 11 years.  The clinic was set-up by Dr Becky Andrew who was looking to branch out on her own after working for Dr Ian Hutchinson in Chelmsford.  Dr Andrew’s family all live in East Sussex so having found a premises that would work as a clinic, it got converted from a children’s nursery into the busy, thriving clinic it is today.

Dr Andrew’s desire to work with the body and help improve peoples health and mobility, came from having received chiropractic treatment herself as a sporty teenager with low back pain.

Dr Becky Andrew BA, MSc, DC

Chiropractor & Owner of Uckfield and Hailsham Chiropractic Clinics

My interest in chiropractic started in 1991 when as a sports scholar I had to visit Richard Rummary (original owner of Hailsham CC), with severe low back pain and was amazed at how after only a few treatments my mobility and pain improved hugely.

Having gone on a hockey scholarship to the USA to study Anthropology and African studies for 4 years, and spending lots of time in the training room, I knew I wanted to work with the body. So I decided to continue my studies back in the UK studying for a Master’s of Science in Chiropractic at the University of Surrey.

After working for Ian Hutchinson a Chiropractor in Chelmsford for 3 years, I decided to set up on my own nearer family and friends in Sussex. Uckfield Chiropractic Clinic was set up and opened in July 2006. The clinic in Uckfield has flourished and we now have a multi disciplinary team including two chiropractors.

In 2012 I expanded my business and purchased Hailsham Chiropractic Clinic, which is also multi disciplinary, with three Chiropractors. We also have x-ray facilities onsite, which is used by both clinics.

As a chiropractor I thoroughly enjoy treating generations of families. Having a strong background in high level sports, this is always of interest me helping people to perform to their optimum. Also being a parent has given me the impetus to undertake additional courses on chiropractic treatment during pregnancy and paediatrics. At the clinics we use a wide variety of chiropractic techniques depending on the patients needs - this includes Becky being an advanced level Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique practitioner.

I still enjoy playing and watching sport when I have the time, most of it now taken up by my two young sons who love having treatments and have their own toy activators to perform treatments on family!

Anna Lane

Massage Therapist

I have been a massage therapist for 16 years now. I absolutely love my job and the people I work with.

I use hot stones in all my treatments as they work so well at getting into tired and achy muscles. More than that though hot stones can help you feel nurtured, pampered and revived.

You can choose a bespoke massage from 30 minutes or 45 minutes or an hour. I also offer hour and half treatments for that real treat.

I also offer pregnancy massage which is an hour and half massage and you can choose to have hot stones or not although every pregnant lady I have massaged loves the stones as they are so nurturing and comforting.

Never underestimate the power hot stones can give.
I also organise and manage well-being events at festivals and charity functions.  I have two young girls that take up the rest of my time!

Jen Wilson

Bowen Therapist

I stumbled upon The Bowen Technique at a hen party!

A long lost friend Freya, www.discoverbowen.co.uk, who has a practice in Gloucestershire, gave me a Bowen treatment the morning after the night before.

I felt invigorated; I could feel my body adjusting to the treatment and was absolutely amazed how relaxing and powerful Bowen was with such a little amount of bodywork. So much so that I signed up for a course the following week.

I completed the course (through the European College of Bowen Studies) in the summer of 2012 and have been happily practising ever since alongside my other job as a nurse with the NHS in Brighton.

Louise Dayman

Receptionist

I joined Uckfield clinic in Jan 2009 as the first permanent receptionist here! Becky had popped in to my previous place of work advertising her new business, at just the time I was considering seeking out help for chronic back pain. I immediately loved her fun, bubbly, caring personality but professional at the same time. We hit it off so much she offered me the job within a few months of knowing each other after I needed a change.

I love working here with all the different therapists & feel we offer a place that's very friendly & relaxed which is very conducive to clients well being.
